Primary Care Sports Medicine Providers
Sourav Poddar, MD, Director, Primary Care Sports Medicine Program

Dr. Poddar serves as Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Program. He obtained his undergraduate degree
in Biochemistry at Rice University and then graduated with honors with his medical
degree from the University of Texas-Southwestern. Coming to Colorado to further
his training, he completed his residency training at the University of Colorado-
Rose Family Medicine Residency, serving as chief resident his final year. Dr.
Poddar subsequently finished a sports medicine fellowship at the University of
Colorado. He specializes in the non-operative management of orthopedic injuries
as well as exercise prescription, heat illness and concussion management. Dr.
Poddar is the head medical team physician for the University of Colorado Buffaloes
and also serves as a consultant to the San Francisco Giants.

Stephanie Chu, DO
Dr. Chu is a Family Medicine physician who has fellowship training in sports
medicine. Her areas of special interest include dance medicine, gymnastics and
the female athlete, which stems from growing up involved in ballet and gymnastics.
Currently she is a recreational runner and has run in a number of half marathons.
She enjoys taking care of athletes of all ages and skill level. Dr. Chu serves
as a team physician for the University of Colorado athletic program.

John Hill, DO, FACSM, Director, Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship
Dr. Hill joined the department in June 1994 and serves as the Director for the University of Colorado Sports Medicine Fellowship, in addition to precepting at the Rose Family Medicine Center and providing OB C-Section coverage for the residency. John graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific: Pomona, CA in June 1987. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Truman Medical Center-East, University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was formerly on faculty at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. John's interests include residency education, research and medical mission projects. He keeps busy with and enjoys bicycling, backpacking, rock climbing. He is married and has two children.

Morteza Khodaee, MD, MPH
Dr. Khodaee is assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. He earned his medical degree from Tehran Azad University in Iran. Dr. Khodaee completed his Family Medicine residency and Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan. He is board-certified in Family Medicine and has earned a CAQ in Sports Medicine. He has special interest in soccer related injuries and prevention. He is the Sports Medicine coordinator at A.F. Williams Family Medicine residency clinic.
