UC Denver-Affiliated Family Medicine Residencies

The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at the University of Colorado has operated the longest continuous general practice training program in the country and has been actively involved in family medicine training since the inception of Family Medicine as a specialty.

The DFM has three residences. These include:

  • University of Colorado Hospital Family Medicine Residency
  • Rose Family Medicine Residency
  • Swedish Family Medicine Residency

For more information, see the UC Denver-Affiliated Residencies page.

Graduates of these programs are highly prepared to care for patients in a variety of settings and to understand the challenges of our changing medical environment. Each program has a unique educational approach and graduates of the individual programs have different emphasis in their skills and populations they serve. All programs share a common set of guiding principles with modifications and the faculty work closely together to enhance the common educational activities.
