NOT AVAILABLE TO 4TH YEAR STUDENTS DURING THE LAST 6 WEEKS OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR.
Prerequisites: Departmental approval must be obtained and all
arrangements made at least one semester in advance. Approval of the
Associate Dean for Student Affairs required.
Primary care research opportunities are available
outside the United States
in practice-based research, epidemiologic research, and Community Oriented
Primary Care (COPC). Department
mentor must be assigned. This
elective may be used for the
Mentored Scholarly Activity. Completion of all 3 of the
Successful
International Experiences sessions is required.
In-country and UCD course forms must be completed a minimum of 60
days prior to the start of the elective. All details including the
Pre-Travel
Checklist for International Electives (Word file), course
registration, course specific goals and objectives, and travel and
accommodation arrangements for the elective must be finalized and confirmed
a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of the elective.
A passport valid for
at least 6 months beyond your travel date is required for travel outside of
the United States
